Background & Counseling Philosophy:

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with offices in Palo Alto and Pleasanton, California.

I received a Bachelor of Science in Family Sciences from Brigham Young University and Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Purdue University.

After receiving my Masters Degree, I worked for Utah Valley University and Brigham Young University as an adjunct faculty member teaching a variety of courses. I then moved to the Bay Area and worked several years as a counselor, adoption case worker, and office manager for a counseling and adoption agency. After leaving the agency, I began my counseling private practice. I am currently an adjunct faculty member for Menlo College teaching Psychology courses.

I believe that it is inevitable that we all will experience challenges throughout our lives. Some of these challenges we are able to solve on our own. However, some challenges are unique and seeking professional guidance can be a helpful solution to help one get unstuck from maladaptive ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving. I admire my client's courage to explore therapy and appreciate the trust in inviting me into the process of building insights and co-authoring solutions to create desired change. I do not see my clients as the challenges they are having, but believe them to be good and capable human beings that require a trusting theraputic environment to remove the roadblocks to happiness and achieving their goals.
